Panthers JV Win … Much more

It was the battle of the JV cat family when the Tigers from Hancock Place visited the Mehlville Panthers. The game was called after 4 ½ Innings with the Panthers beating the Tigers 23-3 by our score keeping.

This was the second game of the season for Hancock playing their first game against Gateway Science academy almost two weeks ago. The Tigers got on the scoreboard with one run in the second.  They scored two runs in the third on errors and were blanked in the fourth and the fifth innings.

Mehlville came in with a 1-0 record after beating Chaminade a week ago. The Panthers scored eight run in the first innings going through the rotation twice and loading the bases twice. They added four more runs in the second and eleven runs in the fourth.  They were blanked in the third and did not bat the bottom of the fifth.

The Tigers losing pitchers were Harold who pitched for 3 1/3 innings. Valem came in and closed out the fourth inning.

Panther’s Doug Hinrich was the winning pitcher who pitched for four innings and charged with the three runs. Stephen Berhorst came in and closed out the fifth with a scoreless inning.

The Tigers travel to Ladue to take on the Ladue Rams. Mehlville on a current home stand will host the Mustangs from Marquette.

In other action tonight:

Hazelwood West defeated McCluer North on varsity baseball 4-3.

McCluer North also hosted a JV track meet this afternoon. Teams that were attending and competing were Belleville East, Hazelwood Central, Jennings, McCluer, St. Dominic, McCluer South, Trinity Catholic, and Parkway North.

Westminster hosted Parkway Central in a varsity lacrosse game. With no score to report apparently Parkway central won.  Westminster also hosted Principia in varsity baseball winning 10-0.

Vianney hosted SLUH in a JV lacrosse game. The Billikins beat the Griffins 15-2.
